Jr NTR vows legal action over Chuttamalle AI deepfake targeting Janhvi Kapoor
The actor called the digitally manipulated explicit video "disgusting, sick and shameless" and urged the government to tighten regulations on artificial intelligence.

Actor Jr NTR has strongly condemned an explicit, AI-generated deepfake video targeting himself and co-star Janhvi Kapoor, promising strict legal action against those behind it.
The digitally manipulated clip edits footage from "Chuttamalle", a popular song from their recent action film Devara: Part 1. The digital edit replaces the original film scenes with explicit visuals of the two actors, prompting swift and angry reactions online.
Writing on the social media platform X, Jr NTR described the video as "disgusting, sick and shameless". He questioned the character of the creators, pointing out the hypocrisy of such acts in a society that traditionally values women.
"In a land that worships women as mothers and goddesses, where 'Matrudevo Bhava' is not just a phrase but a part of our culture, some people have fallen so low that they are using AI to disrespect a woman in the most degrading way possible," he wrote. "Using AI to create something this vile is shameful beyond words."
Threat of legal action
The actor made it clear that he will not let the matter rest. He issued a direct warning to those who created and distributed the video, promising to take them to court.
"To the scumbags behind this morphed Chuttamalle video, I will not spare any of you," Jr NTR wrote. "I will take every possible legal action against those who created it and those who are spreading it."
He also made a direct appeal to the public to stop the spread of the manipulated clip by refusing to watch or share it. He warned that the technology poses a threat to anyone, not just public figures. "Please do not watch, share or engage with such content," he wrote. "Today it is someone else. Tomorrow, it could be your mother, sister, wife or daughter."
Demands for stricter AI laws
Beyond legal warnings, the actor urged Indian authorities to take systemic steps to address the rapid rise of synthetic media. He called on state governments and the central Government of India to establish strict guidelines to prevent the misuse of artificial intelligence.
"This is a serious issue," Jr NTR wrote, "and I urge all the state governments and the Government of India to act strongly and bring in strict regulations against the misuse of AI."
While the Indian government updated its regulatory guidelines on deepfakes and synthetically generated information in 2026, the rapid spread of explicit AI-generated media remains a major concern across the country's entertainment industries.
