Gruha Jyothi scheme verification deadline set

Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC) has fixed 31 October as the final deadline for consumers across five Karnataka districts to submit documents and verify their details under the Gruha Jyothi scheme.

The public utility has already collected and updated details for 19,67,919 consumers out of 24,29,607 identified beneficiaries across Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan, Kodagu, and Chamarajanagar districts. That represents an 81 per cent progress rate overall, demonstrating steady administrative delivery of the electricity subsidy scheme.

District-wise completion across southern Karnataka

Field teams have recorded the status of 23,07,021 cases, accounting for 94.95 per cent of all identified consumers. This overall tally includes completed submissions, locked houses, vacant premises, and rejected applications.

Kodagu district leads the region in beneficiary verification completion, followed closely by Mandya and Hassan.

Action required for pending consumers

During the verification drive, survey personnel found 2,36,380 houses locked and 95,681 properties vacant. A further 7,041 submissions were rejected during initial documentation checks.

CESC has urged consumers who could not meet survey officers due to locked or vacant premises, or for any other reason, to complete the process promptly. Beneficiaries need to visit their local CESC sub-division offices with the required documents before the 31 October deadline to ensure uninterrupted access to subsidised electricity.
