Investors who bid for the Rs 30,213-crore Jio Platforms public offer are tracking their allotment status today, following an aggressive subscription rush that closed at more than 22 times the shares on offer.

The issue, which ran from 21 to 23 October, represents one of the largest equity offerings in Indian corporate history, anchoring the nation's push into next-generation digital connectivity and computing infrastructure. Official allotment details are expected to be finalised on Monday, 26 October, ahead of the stock's scheduled trading debut on the BSE and NSE on Wednesday, 28 October.

Grey market premiums on Sunday hovered around Rs 247 to Rs 248 per share. That suggests an indicative listing price near Rs 1,366 to Rs 1,367, representing a potential 22 per cent premium over the upper price band of Rs 1,119. While unofficial, the premium reflects broad market confidence in the telecom and tech giant's cash generation and capital structure.

Subscription numbers by category

Demand was driven heavily by domestic and international institutions, reflecting deep liquidity and faith in India's sovereign digital trajectory. Qualified institutional buyers booked their allocated quota 70.55 times over, while non-institutional high-net-worth investors subscribed 14 times.

Investor categorySubscription level
Qualified institutional buyers70.55 times
Non-institutional investors14.00 times
Retail individual investors2.72 times
Overall total22.19 times

Retail investors, who applied at a minimum bid size of one lot (12 shares costing Rs 13,428 at the ceiling price), oversubscribed their portion by 2.72 times. Because retail allocation in oversubscribed issues is determined via a computerised draw of lots, successful retail applicants will receive a single lot of 12 shares, with any surplus funds unblocked automatically. Unsuccessful applicants will see their entire bid amount unblocked in their bank accounts.

Strengthening digital infrastructure

The entire Rs 30,213-crore issue consists of 27 crore fresh equity shares, with no existing promoter offloading stock. The company has earmarked up to Rs 27,500 crore from the net proceeds to prepay or repay outstanding borrowings at its key operating subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm.

This debt clearance significantly solidifies the firm's balance sheet, supporting its nationwide 5G footprint and expanding domestic fiber assets. The network currently reaches more than 99 per cent of India's population and serves 533.3 million subscribers. Alongside connectivity, Jio Platforms has expanded operations across artificial intelligence, enterprise cloud services, home broadband, and smart devices.

The company's operational revenue rose to Rs 1.46 lakh crore in the financial year ending March 2026, up from Rs 1.28 lakh crore the previous year, while annual net profit climbed to Rs 30,049 crore.

How to verify allotment

Applicants can check their status using their Permanent Account Number (PAN), application number, or demat client ID across three portals once data is uploaded:

  • Registrar: KFin Technologies' allotment verification website
  • BSE: The investor application check page under the equity segment
  • NSE: The exchange's IPO bid verification portal

Refunds and fund releases for non-allottees, as well as the crediting of equity shares to successful demat accounts, are scheduled to conclude on Tuesday, 27 October.
