K Annamalai welcomes Mohan Bhagwat remarks on religious harmony and inclusion
The BJP leader praised the RSS chief's insistence that India belongs equally to all religious communities.

BJP leader K Annamalai has welcomed statements made by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, who affirmed that India belongs equally to all communities and that any view excluding Muslims from the nation is incorrect.
Speaking on Tuesday, Annamalai said he was deeply encouraged by Bhagwat's message delivered during a recent visit to the United States. He noted that the RSS Sarsanghchalak's speeches carry significant weight both in India and abroad, serving as a guiding benchmark for social cohesion.
What Mohan Bhagwat said in New York
Bhagwat made the remarks while addressing the 'One World, One Humanity' Faith Leaders Conference in New York on 29 August. During his speech, the RSS chief stressed that the vision of a cultural Hindu Rashtra does not imply the exclusion of any minority faith.
He told delegates that individuals may follow different religious traditions while sharing a common humanity, arguing that every citizen deserves equal dignity regardless of how they worship. Bhagwat added that any Hindu who claims Muslims or followers of other religions have no place in India is fundamentally mistaken.
Broadening global interest in Indian unity
Welcoming the comments, Annamalai highlighted that international interest in India's civilisation, governance traditions and societal stability is reaching unprecedented levels. He emphasised that as the country's footprint grows globally, its leaders and citizens must showcase India's intrinsic strength in diversity.
Annamalai added that Bhagwat's clarification provides a clear vision of unity that aligns with India's long-standing tradition of accommodating diverse faith traditions while maintaining strong national stability.
