Laal Hit Janta Party counters CJP protests against CEC Gyanesh Kumar in Delhi
A new civic group has held a membership meeting in the capital to push back against disruptive protests and advocate responsible democratic engagement.

A new civic outfit calling itself the Laal Hit Janta Party gathered at Malviya Smriti Bhawan in Delhi on Sunday to oppose street demonstrations targeting Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The group emerged as a direct response to campaigns organized by the Cockroach Janata Party, which has been demanding Kumar's resignation over alleged voter list deletions. Addressing the meeting on Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg, convenor Ayan Bhatnagar said the outfit was not created to contest elections, but to defend democratic stability and challenge efforts to create public disorder.
Protecting institutional integrity and civic peace
Speakers at the gathering, including filmmakers Richa Gupta, Pawan Nagpal and Atul Gangwar, urged young citizens to participate in public life through factual communication, peaceful assembly and established legal avenues. The organisation stated that public debate around electoral procedures should rely on verified evidence and constitutional mechanisms rather than unverified claims.
While acknowledging that peaceful protest is a constitutional right, the group noted that organizers must consider the impact of street blockades on traders, workers and daily commuters. The gathering follows an earlier assembly at Janpath, where around 200 supporters gathered to express concern over rhetoric directed at national leaders and police personnel.

The demonstrations by the Cockroach Janata Party and opposition groups center on allegations regarding revisions to Form 6 and voter list updates. The Election Commission operates under established legal processes to ensure transparent voter registration across all states.
