Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has commended her nephew and national coordinator Akash Anand for demonstrating political discipline and putting party interests ahead of family ties following the retirement of his father-in-law, former Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Siddharth.

In a statement issued on social media platform X, Mayawati ruled out any return to the party for Siddharth, whom she held responsible for past internal friction. She urged party cadres to ignore rumours and focus on ensuring the success of a series of upcoming public rallies across Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand.

Internal discipline and restructuring

Mayawati said Anand had displayed commendable maturity in fulfilling his party responsibilities despite personal connections. Siddharth retired from politics in September after being expelled from the organization.

Firmly dismissing speculation surrounding Siddharth's political future, Mayawati stated that he would not be readmitted under any circumstances. She warned supporters against attempts by self-serving elements to mislead party workers, stressing that organizational discipline remains paramount.

To strengthen operations at the BSP central headquarters in Delhi, Mayawati also announced that Akash Anand's brother, Ishan Anand, will join party administration under her direct guidance. Having recently completed his legal education in London, Ishan Anand will manage legal affairs and election paperwork.

Multi-state rally and seminar campaign

The BSP leadership has finalized a busy schedule of public meetings and seminars for Akash Anand over the coming weeks, designed to mobilize grassroots cadre across northern states.
