Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held a series of high-level meetings with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan on Saturday, underscoring growing inter-state cooperation and shared development priorities.

The official visit near Vijayawada and Mangalagiri highlighted administrative synergy across states, ranging from mega-infrastructure projects like the greenfield capital city at Amaravati to regional wildlife preservation.

Focus on Amaravati capital city and developmental governance

During his courtesy call at Chief Minister Naidu's camp office near Vijayawada, Chief Minister Yadav was briefed on several core governance and infrastructure initiatives currently underway in Andhra Pradesh.

Chief Minister Naidu outlined the strategic roadmap for constructing Amaravati, detailing how the planned capital aims to become a model urban center. Information Technology and Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh also met with the visiting leader, presenting Chief Minister Yadav with a coffee-table book chronicling the Yuvagalam Padayatra.

Strengthening tiger conservation and cultural exchange

Later in the day, Chief Minister Yadav met Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan at his camp office near Mangalagiri to discuss targeted environmental issues.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan raised key priorities concerning the Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve (NSTR), the largest tiger reserve in India. He sought Madhya Pradesh's active collaboration in strengthening tiger conservation frameworks and requested technical and administrative cooperation for the reintroduction of the Indian bison (Gaur) into the reserve.

Madhya Pradesh, widely recognised for its successful tiger reserves and wildlife management practices, provides a proven benchmark for ecological restoration.

The meeting concluded with a ceremonial exchange reflecting the rich cultural heritage of both states. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan presented Chief Minister Yadav with a traditional Kondapalli artifact depicting Sri Rama Pattabhishekam, a handcrafted portrait of Goddess Durga created by Srikalahasti artisans, and organic Araku coffee. In return, Chief Minister Yadav presented a handcrafted replica of the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga idol.
