Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on Sunday to witness the Indian Air Force's 'Wings over Ganges' aerial display at Namo Ghat and inaugurate a major garment manufacturing facility at Arvind Mills.

The air show, organised to mark the 94th Indian Air Force Day, brought together advanced multi-role fighter aircraft and display teams over the river Ganga. The event highlighted India's growing domestic defence capabilities alongside joint operational readiness across the armed forces.

Industrial boost through new textile manufacturing plant

Alongside the defence display, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated a new garment manufacturing unit at Arvind Mills in Varanasi. The industrial investment aims to expand the local textile ecosystem and generate direct employment opportunities in the region, particularly for female workers.

The Prime Minister arrived in the city to a warm public reception, with local residents organising welcome ceremonies ahead of his visits to the industrial complex and Namo Ghat.

Commitment to joint service integration

Indian Air Force Chief AP Singh affirmed the military's ongoing commitment to jointness and integration across forces, noting that future combat scenarios would be inherently multi-domain.

Addressing discussions on the proposed theaterisation of the armed forces, the Air Chief explained that integration focuses on employing air power to its maximum effect within a unified force structure, rather than permanently dividing fighter assets geographically.
