The two-day presidential visit highlighted Chhattisgarh's cultural depth, from Sindhi spiritual traditions in Raipur to tribal heritage in Bastar.

President Droupadi Murmu has released a Rs 200 commemorative coin in Raipur to mark the 200th birth anniversary of Mata Hasi Devi Ji, kicking off a two-day presidential tour focused on Chhattisgarh's spiritual traditions and tribal heritage.

Honouring Bastar's cultural heritage
Following her engagements in Raipur, where she also attended the Seva Samman Parv and Yuva Prabodhan programmes at the Indoor Stadium, President Murmu travelled south to Jagdalpur in Bastar district on Friday.
She offered prayers at the Maa Danteshwari temple, where shrine authorities accorded her a traditional welcome. Chief Minister Sai called the visit a proud moment for the state, noting that national recognition brings renewed honour to Bastar's distinctive traditions and ancient culture.
President Murmu subsequently attended the Muria Darbar, a centuries-old tribal assembly often described as an 'Aadim Jan Sansad' or primitive people's parliament. Held as part of the world-famous Bastar Dussehra festival, the gathering allowed the President to interact directly with local priests and tribal elders before she addressed a public gathering at Lal Bagh ground.
