MakeO, the domestic health-technology company behind clear aligner brand Toothsi, has secured Rs 90 crore in a fresh funding round led by Singularity AMC to accelerate its expansion across India and Southeast Asia.

The investment round drew backing from prominent investment vehicles including DSP Family Office, Genesis, and Unispace Ventures. The capital injection underscores growing private market confidence in India's home-grown healthcare ecosystem, where domestic manufacturing, specialised clinical services, and digital distribution are combining to create globally competitive enterprises.

Expanding manufacturing and clinical outreach

MakeO plans to channel the proceeds into both organic growth and targeted acquisitions, reinforcing its physical footprint alongside its backend medical infrastructure. The platform currently runs more than 60 clinical centres across India and maintains a collaborative network of roughly 1,100 partner dentists spread across 10 countries.

A central component of the company's regional strategy rests on advanced manufacturing anchored in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The facility houses high-precision 3D printing and robotic automation lines capable of producing over one million customised clear aligners every year. That domestic production base already supplies consumers and practitioners across more than 150 Indian cities while exporting medical-grade aligners to overseas markets.

"It will allow us to invest in and strengthen our end-to-end platform across consumer experience, clinical centres, backend technology, and manufacturing facilities," said Arpi Mehta, group chief executive and co-founder of MakeO.

Co-founder Manjul Jain noted that the raise bolsters the firm's capacity to design and manufacture advanced dental solutions locally in Mumbai while distributing them across international markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan.

Regional acquisitions driving scale

Founded in 2018 by orthodontists Arpi Mehta, Pravin Shetty, Manjul Jain, and Anirudh Kale, MakeO began with Toothsi before bringing its dermatology line, Skinnsi, under a unified consumer platform in 2022. The business has since moved rapidly to integrate physical clinic chains with digital patient workflows.

In recent quarters, MakeO expanded its domestic footprint by acquiring Apple Dental, a regional chain of 20 clinics in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, in a transaction valued at Rs 10.98 crore. It followed that purchase by acquiring Singapore-based consumer dental platform Zenyum, a cross-border deal that established an immediate bridge into key Southeast Asian healthcare markets.

The combined platform has reached operational stability, with management reporting that revenue has crossed Rs 500 crore alongside positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) reached earlier in 2026. The firm aims to double revenue over the next two to three years as domestic healthcare demand deepens and Indian medical manufacturing deepens its footprint across Asian supply chains.
