RevRag raises $2.5 million seed round to expand banking AI platform
The fresh capital will fund US expansion and proprietary model development as Indian enterprise artificial intelligence gains commercial traction.

Indian artificial intelligence startup RevRag has raised $2.5 million in a seed funding round, securing capital to expand its banking and insurance automation technology into international markets.
The investment round was led by venture capital firms Accion Ventures and Cedar Hill Capital. The funding is earmarked to accelerate product development and support RevRag's planned entry into the United States, where the company plans to sell its automated client engagement systems to financial institutions.
RevRag specialises in agentic AI technology designed to function as virtual relationship managers within the mobile applications and digital platforms of retail banks, non-banking lenders, and insurance providers. The software handles routine customer interactions, assists with product distribution, and automates credit query handling.
After initially building its platform using third-party artificial intelligence engines, the startup intends to use the new funds to train and deploy proprietary models tailored specifically to banking workflows and financial compliance requirements.

Enterprise AI adoption broadens across Indian industry
The funding for RevRag comes amid a visible acceleration in artificial intelligence deployments across both private enterprise and state-run infrastructure in India. Domestic institutions are moving rapidly from experimental generative software to specialised systems built for compliance and physical operations.
In the public sector, city gas utility Indraprastha Gas Ltd launched an artificial intelligence verification pilot on Thursday across ten of its retail compressed natural gas stations. The IGL system uses station-mounted cameras to read vehicle registration plates automatically upon arrival. An AI application then cross-references the registration number directly against records maintained by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation.
Under federal safety regulations, all CNG vehicle cylinders must undergo hydrostatic pressure testing once every three years at an authorised centre. IGL notified motorists in September that fuel dispensing would be refused to vehicles operating without valid test certificates.
Mohit Bhatia, Director (Commercial) at IGL, said the utility plans to assess operational data from the ten pilot stations before expanding the camera network, while working with regulators to connect testing records directly with national transport databases. Together with private-sector funding rounds such as RevRag's, the rollout reflects how practical AI tools are moving directly into operational front lines across the country.
