STPI opens 30,000 sq ft startup incubation centre at Dehradun IT Park
The four-storey facility at Sahastradhara Road expands infrastructure and mentoring support for technology enterprises across Uttarakhand.

Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has opened a new 30,000-square-foot incubation facility at the IT Park on Sahastradhara Road in Dehradun, providing a major boost to Uttarakhand's expanding technology and startup ecosystem.
Inaugurated on Friday by Jitin Prasada, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Commerce & Industry, the four-storey facility is designed to offer modern office infrastructure to technology startups and established IT enterprises. The launch was attended by Uttarakhand IT and Good Governance Minister Pradeep Batra and Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi.
Operating under the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the new incubation centre features semi-furnished office spaces, high-speed connectivity, an auditorium, meeting rooms, conference facilities, and a Network Operations Centre.
Driving technological self-reliance
Speaking at the opening, Prasada highlighted technology and trade as key drivers of India's journey towards becoming a developed nation under the Viksit Bharat vision. He emphasized the critical need for domestic technological self-reliance, particularly in strategic sectors such as semiconductor design and electronics manufacturing.
With Uttarakhand already host to over 1,700 recognised startups, Prasada said the new hub will foster collaboration and attract investment. He also pointed to ongoing initiatives to establish an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Kashipur, which will generate local employment for skilled youth.

Through the Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS), STPI Dehradun has already selected 52 startups via competitive challenge programmes. Among these, 17 startups received seed funding totalling ₹4.25 crore, while over 26 early-stage founders received individual stipends.
Uttarakhand IT Secretary Pankaj Pandey noted that the incubation centre complements the state's broader digital governance push, which now offers approximately 1,000 public services online.
