Amazon launches Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse AI listening devices
The retail giant debuts a $75 wearable and a $100 magnetic phone attachment built to record, summarise, and pull tasks from daily dialogue.

Amazon has launched two personal artificial intelligence devices under its Bee hardware brand: the Bee Frontier wearable and the Bee Eclipse, a credit-card-sized device that snaps onto the back of a smartphone.
The launch marks Amazon's first hardware release under the Bee name since acquiring the San Francisco startup in July 2025. Both gadgets are designed to record spoken dialogue, generate summaries, and automatically pull out calendar invites and action items.
The Bee Frontier costs $74.99 and is available immediately. Worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing, it features dual microphones with noise filtering, an IP67 water-resistance rating, USB-C charging, and a battery life of up to seven days. The Bee Eclipse, priced at $99.99, attaches magnetically to the back of a mobile phone and offers more than 21 days of battery life on a single charge. Amazon said the Eclipse will go on sale shortly.
How the devices compare
| Model | Form factor | Battery life | Price | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bee Frontier | Wristband or clip | Up to 7 days | $74.99 | Available now |
| Bee Eclipse | Magnetic card | Over 21 days | $99.99 | Available soon |
Both devices run on what Amazon calls its "Bee Private Compute" architecture. The company said raw audio is processed in real time and deleted immediately rather than stored on device or in the cloud. Transcripts are encrypted with user-managed keys, and an LED light turns on whenever audio processing is active.
Hardware buyers receive conversation summaries and a rolling 14-day memory buffer without extra charge. Amazon is pairing the rollout with an optional Bee Pro subscription priced at $11.99 a month, which includes a 30-day free trial. The paid tier unlocks unlimited summaries, a desktop application, and deeper integrations.
Under the subscription, Bee connects to productivity suites including Gmail, Google Calendar, and Microsoft Outlook to draft emails and log appointments. Users can also sync data with Apple HealthKit or link photo libraries.
Amazon is also tying the devices into its broader consumer ecosystem. When linked to Alexa+, users can ask smart speakers to read out daily to-do lists or conversation recaps via Voice ID recognition. Mentions of products during a conversation can also trigger recommendations on the user's Amazon shopping homepage and mobile apps.
The new Bee hardware enters an expanding field of voice-first AI gadgets, directly undercutting rivals such as the $159 Plaud Note. Whether mainstream consumers embrace continuous conversational recording remains an open question, but Amazon is betting that lower hardware prices and shopping automation will bring ambient AI onto wrists and phones.
