Bengaluru-based mobile game developer Gameberry Labs reported a 20% jump in operating revenue to Rs 711 crore in the financial year 2025–26, lifted by solid gains in in-app purchases and digital advertising.

Net profit for the period rose 17% to Rs 129 crore, according to regulatory filings submitted to the Registrar of Companies. The performance highlights the steady commercial footing of India’s homegrown digital gaming sector, where bootstrapped studios are increasingly capturing revenue from gamers worldwide.

Global user base fuels topline growth

Best known for popular mobile titles such as Ludo Star, Gameberry earns the vast majority of its income and user traffic beyond domestic borders. Core international markets driving in-app sales and engagement include Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Spain.

Alongside digital sales inside its titles, advertising placements across the company's catalogue delivered substantial contributions to the top line over the 12-month period.

Rising operational costs

Expansion across international markets brought heavier outlays. Gameberry's overall expenses climbed 23% during the fiscal year.

The increase was driven primarily by higher payment processing charges on international transactions through major app storefronts, alongside rising staff expenses as the firm expanded engineering and creative personnel.

The company has sustained full operational independence without institutional venture funding, an uncommon trajectory in a sector often reliant on external cash reserves. That discipline earned the studio the Bootstrap Champ prize at the Economic Times Startup Awards in 2023.

Gameberry's steady balance-sheet expansion aligns with the wider advancement of India's creative technology ecosystem. Backed by expanding digital infrastructure, domestic talent pools, and transparent regulatory frameworks, Indian studios are proving capable of engineering games locally and monetising them profitably on the global stage.
