Durga Puja 2026 at Mahendra Elena 5 brings grand six-day Durgotsav to Electronic City

Mahendra Elena 5 in Electronic City is organising one of the largest Durga Pujas in Electronic City and South Bengaluru. The six-day celebration, officially named Elena 5 Durgotsav 2026, runs from 16 October to 21 October 2026 at Mahendra Elena 5, situated in Electronic City Phase 1.

Organised by the Elena 5 Residents Welfare Association, the event is built around the theme "United in Faith • Bound by Culture". The association aims to make this year's gathering the largest Durgotsav celebration anywhere in Electronic City, bringing together families, neighbours, and visitors across the tech corridor.

Religious rites and daily schedule

The festival begins on Shashthi, 16 October, with the traditional Bodhon and welcome ceremony to mark the awakening of Goddess Durga. Sacred daily rituals will follow throughout the six-day schedule, giving devotees an opportunity to offer prayers and gather for worship every morning and evening.

The religious observances progress through Saptami, Ashtami, and Navami before concluding on Dashami. Maha Navami features evening prayers alongside high-energy Dandiya dancing, blending spiritual devotion with festive dancing. On Vijayadashami, the celebration concludes with the traditional Sindoor Khela — where married women apply red vermilion to one another in a ritual of community bonding and goodwill — followed by the Visarjan idol immersion ceremony.

Community talent showcase and festive entertainment

Durga Puja celebrations across Bengaluru

Bengaluru has long embraced Durga Puja as a city-wide cultural highlight. From historic celebrations in Jayamahal, Indiranagar, and Koramangala to sprawling gatherings in HSR Layout, Whitefield, and JP Nagar, communities across Karnataka's capital come together each autumn to celebrate the festival.

While major socio-cultural trusts and associations host large public pandals featuring elaborate themes, community-focused events like Elena 5 Durgotsav in Electronic City offer a distinct experience centred on neighborhood participation.
