SVPNPA Dikshant Parade: 151 officer trainees set to graduate in Hyderabad
Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan will review the passing-out parade of 151 officer trainees, including 37 women and 16 foreign officers, at the National Police Academy.

A total of 151 officer trainees from the 78th regular recruit batch will step out on the parade ground of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad on Saturday, 17 October 2026, for their formal Dikshant Parade. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan will review the ceremonial parade as chief guest, marking the culmination of an intensive phase of training designed to equip India's top law enforcement leaders with modern operational skills.
The graduating cohort reflects both national strength and international cooperation. Of the 151 officers, 135 are Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers, while 16 are officers from neighbouring partner nations. Female leadership is prominent in this batch, with 37 women officers completing the rigorous curriculum.

Modern security training and legal reform
Having joined the Hyderabad academy on 8 December 2025 following a 15-week foundation course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie, the probationers completed 45 weeks of specialized training. SVPNPA Director Sujeet Pandey stated that the curriculum was structured to balance traditional law enforcement with sophisticated digital and operational threats. Training covered cybercrime, cryptocurrency fraud, darknet tracking, financial investigations, counter-narcotics, artificial intelligence, and drone defense systems.
Crucially, the cohort was trained extensively on the implementation of India's three new criminal laws, combining forensic techniques, evidence gathering, public order management, and police ethics. Outdoor instructions extended across tactical operations, weapons handling, unarmed combat, fieldcraft, physical fitness, yoga, and equitation.
To build practical competence, probationers undertook field attachments at local police stations to study the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) and witnessed security operations during major events, including state assembly elections in Assam and Kerala. Specialized attachments featured jungle survival training with Greyhounds in Telangana, rock climbing with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, advanced weapons handling with the Border Security Force, and tactical exposure alongside the Indian Army and the CRPF in Left-Wing Extremism operational zones.
Next steps in leadership development
Following Saturday's parade, the officers will head to Delhi for four weeks of attachments with central police organisations and armed police forces, wrapping up their 49-week initial phase.
They will then spend 29 weeks on practical district assignments within their assigned state cadres to gain hands-on administrative experience. The batch will assemble back at the academy on 21 June 2027 for a nine-week final phase, which includes specialized forensic training at the National Forensic Sciences University and an executive leadership module at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
