Telangana will launch classes across at least 10 Young India Integrated Residential Schools starting next academic year, advancing the state's drive to expand high-quality modern education infrastructure.

Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar alongside Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar officially laid the foundation stone for a major new campus at Thatipally village in Jagtial rural mandal. The new integrated residential facility is set to be constructed across 25 acres at an estimated cost of ₹200 crore, providing modern residential learning facilities for approximately 2,500 students. Construction is scheduled to finish within 18 months.

Strengthening state educational infrastructure

The Young India Integrated Residential School model aims to bring together students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, and minority communities into unified campus environments, expanding opportunities for underprivileged youth across Telangana.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Prabhakar detailed direct financial support delivered to residential institutions across the state. The administration has increased diet charges for Gurukul students by 40% and boosted cosmetic allowances by 200%. To guarantee smooth operation, school bill payments are now processed directly through a dedicated green channel.
