Round Table India Area 9 begins work on modern government school in Dundigal

The new campus at D. Pochampally will feature STEM labs, digital classrooms and a library under the Freedom Through Education initiative.

By The India Decade

Round Table India Area 9 has broken ground on a new integrated government school at D. Pochampally in Dundigal Municipality, expanding local public infrastructure to match the area's rapid residential growth.

The organisation performed a traditional bhoomi puja at the construction site as part of its ongoing Freedom Through Education program, which builds classrooms and educational spaces in underserved communities.

Telangana Metropolitan Area and Urban Development Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan attended the ceremony as chief guest, alongside Additional Collector for Local Bodies Faizan Ahmed. Speaking at the event, Ranjan pointed out that upgrading public school infrastructure remains a vital priority for the state, ensuring children in expanding suburban belts have access to modern learning environments. He added that community-led partnerships play a helpful role in reinforcing state investments in public education.

According to Round Table India Area 9 chairman Anirudh Sompalli, the project will deliver a fully equipped campus designed to meet modern academic requirements.

Sompalli said the layout is structured to give students direct access to both traditional academic resources and interactive technology. Beyond basic classroom space, the inclusion of dedicated STEM labs and digital tools aims to narrow the facility gap between private institutions and state-run schools.

Strengthening local public infrastructure

Dundigal Municipality has seen steady growth in recent years, placing greater demand on public facilities. State officials and local authorities have increasingly encouraged non-profit participation to complement public funding for local school upgrades.

Work at the D. Pochampally site will proceed in phases, with officials expecting the new facilities to significantly increase student capacity once completed.
