Police have arrested three more men in Gujarat over the October 3 murder of Punjabi social media influencer and makeup artist Mad Sandhu, who was shot dead outside a car wash in Amritsar.

The three suspects were detained on Saturday in Vapi town, in Gujarat's Valsad district, during a joint operation by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the Valsad Special Operations Group.

Officials identified the men as Harsimranjit Singh, also known as Simu Singga, Fateh Singh, and Arman Singh. All three are residents of Sange village in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab.

Who is involved

According to the Gujarat ATS, interrogation revealed that the three men conducted reconnaissance on Sandhu before the shooting and were preparing to flee when police intercepted them. A team from Punjab Police arrived at the ATS headquarters on Saturday and took custody of all three to bring them back to Punjab for formal proceedings.

Their arrests follow the capture of alleged main shooter Parminder Kaka, also known as Parminder Prasad, who was picked up by the Ahmedabad Crime Branch on October 8. Police said Kaka, a resident of Lohian in Jalandhar, is allegedly linked to the Goldy Dhillon gang and had fled to Gujarat immediately after the attack.

What happened

Sandhu, whose full name was Madhu Sudan Singh, was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne assailants on Loharka Road in Amritsar. The Cantonment police station in Amritsar City registered a murder case before sharing intelligence on suspect locations with officers in Gujarat.

Sandhu had built a public following as a makeup artist and digital creator, gathering more than 226,000 followers on Instagram and appearing in the Punjabi movie Oye Bhole Oye.

He frequently posted content about makeup artistry and discussed gender issues on podcasts and online platforms. His videos and personal styling drew significant online criticism, including a public confrontation a few months ago when a Nihang Sikh challenged him over his clothing and social media presence.
