A Mumbai magistrate court on Wednesday remanded three men to police custody until 31 October over the shooting attack targeting actor Tiger Shroff, while authorities in Bihar moved decisively to suspend a sub-inspector following a viral incident in Begusarai.

Police brought the three suspects — Rehan alias Sukka, Hrithik Kumar alias Roshan, and Phool Singh — to Mumbai after Kota city police intercepted them on a train in Rajasthan. Investigators told the court that custody was essential to locate the firearms used in the crime and to reconstruct how the attack was planned.

At least five to six rounds were fired at Shroff's car in Mumbai's Juhu area on Sunday evening before the assailants fled on a motorcycle. The actor escaped unhurt, though his driver and a bystander were injured. Police later found an abandoned two-wheeler in Andheri.

The Mumbai Police crime branch informed the court that the suspects had destroyed two mobile phones to cover their tracks. Defense lawyers argued that custody was unnecessary because the men had already been questioned during transit remand, but the magistrate granted police custody through 31 October.

Swift administrative action in Bihar

Separately, Bihar Police demonstrated swift internal accountability in Begusarai district after a video surfaced showing Sub-Inspector Anil Kumar Singh engaged in high-handed conduct during a public devotional event in Panagachhi.

The officer, stationed at Mufassil Police Station, was deputed to manage security at the venue on Tuesday night. According to police statements, Singh attempted to shut down the programme early, assaulting the organiser and slapping a female performer. When local residents protested, the sub-inspector drew his service weapon and discharged a round into the air.

Begusarai Superintendent of Police Maneesh Kumar issued an immediate suspension order on 21 October, stating that the officer's actions were completely unacceptable and damaged the reputation of the force. The SP directed the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Sadar-01 to conduct a formal inquiry and present a detailed report. Singh has been ordered to report to the Begusarai Police Lines while under suspension.
