Mumbai Police have taken custody of four more suspects accused of supplying the firearms and ammunition used in Sunday's shooting attack on actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Juhu.

The arrests, carried out through joint operations by the Delhi Police Special Cell and Haryana Police before the suspects were transferred to Mumbai Police CID, bring the total number of people detained in the case to seven. Investigators secured a three-day transit remand to question the four about their logistics network.

Officers identified the latest suspects as Kunal, 21, and Sumit, 19, alongside two women, Radha, 23, and Babita, 23. According to police, Kunal collected a pistol and 20 rounds of live ammunition from Amritsar under instructions from Anil Pandit, an overseas gangster linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate. Radha and Babita allegedly acted as couriers, transporting the concealed weapons by train from Haryana directly to gang operatives in Mumbai.

How tight security forced shooters to switch targets

The Mumbai Crime Branch confirmed that Tiger Shroff was not the original objective. The three shooters initially conducted reconnaissance around the residence of actor Salman Khan in Bandra. However, round-the-clock armed security, barricading, and dedicated escorts deployed by Mumbai Police under Khan's Y-plus security detail prevented any approach.

Deterred by the heavy police presence, the attackers looked for an alternate target tied to their extortion threats. Tracking public social media posts, they learned that Shroff played football at a Juhu club every Sunday evening with minimal personal security. The assailants ambushed Shroff's vehicle at close range around 7:00 pm as he left the venue on 18 October. Shroff escaped unhurt, though his driver and a bystander sustained injuries.

Rapid interstate action tracks fleeing assailants

The shooting triggered an immediate multi-state manhunt. Within 24 hours of the firing, Rajasthan Police and Mumbai Crime Branch intercepted the three suspected shooters—Rehan, Ritik, and Phool Singh—aboard a train at Kota railway station as they attempted to flee toward Nepal.

Bihar Police are currently verifying the identity of Ritik, after an elderly couple identified by investigators in Begusarai stated that the photograph of the arrested suspect did not match their son, who had moved to Delhi for catering work.

A circulating audio recording features Pandit claiming responsibility on behalf of the Bishnoi syndicate, alleging the attack was retribution for working alongside Salman Khan. Charges have been filed under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita alongside the Arms Act, as coordinated policing across five states continues to dismantle the syndicate's operational cells.
