SCORE Intelligence’s latest poll forecasts a decisive majority for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab.

The poll, conducted between 13 September and 14 October 2026, surveyed 28,347 respondents across the Majha, Malwa and Doaba regions. Its seat‑range projection gives AAP between 69 and 82 seats in the 117‑member assembly – well above the 59 seats needed to form a government.

The same questionnaire estimates AAP’s vote share at 38%, a slight fall from the 42.01% it achieved in 2022. By contrast, the Congress is projected at 24% (up from 22.98%), while the BJP’s share climbs to 14% from 6.6% last cycle. The Shiromani Akali Dal is expected to secure 12.5%, down from 18.38%, and Waris Punjab De around 8.5%.

When respondents were asked who they would prefer as chief minister, 39.36% named incumbent Bhagwant Singh Mann, followed by Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi (15.61%) and SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal (10.42%).

Public perception of the state government remains broadly positive: 57.70% rate the administration’s work as “very good” or “good”, with 43.07% describing it as very good. On law‑and‑order, 47.11% express satisfaction, while 36.55% are dissatisfied. Around half (48.07%) say their MLA is performing well.

The poll highlights drugs as the top local concern, cited by 39.3% of participants, underscoring the challenges the government continues to address.

While the figures are projections and not actual results, they suggest that AAP’s governance narrative – emphasising scheme outreach, law‑and‑order improvements and a steady approval rating – remains resonant with Punjab’s electorate as the 2027 assembly election approaches.
