Delhi-NCR deploys over 13,000 police personnel for Dussehra security
Extensive ground coordination and round-the-clock surveillance cover major celebration venues, temples and festive processions across the National Capital Region.

More than 13,000 police personnel have been deployed across Delhi-NCR to maintain public order and oversee crowd management during Dussehra festivities.
The large-scale security mobilisation connects policing divisions across the National Capital Region, combining fixed security cordons, mobile patrols and traffic management teams to handle major footfall at celebration grounds, major temples and Ravan Dahan venues.
Round-the-clock vigil in Delhi
Delhi Police confirmed that personnel have been posted round the clock at sensitive locations and crowded gathering spots. Senior officers are carrying out field inspections across deployment sites to review arrangements and ensure adequate manpower on the ground.
Central Delhi, which traditionally hosts some of the capital's largest festive gatherings, has received reinforced security cover. Angad Mehta, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Central District, noted that the area records a substantial increase in footfall during the festive period, requiring extensive ground management to keep movements orderly and secure.
Delhi traffic police have also put diversion plans in place to keep arterial roads clear around key pandals and celebration grounds.
Coordinated deployment across Gurugram and Faridabad
Neighbouring administrative hubs in Haryana have scaled up their security grids in parallel. In Gurugram, around 2,200 police personnel have been stationed across 66 Ravan Dahan venues, 17 religious processions and associated festive functions. Ground teams have mapped 12 major venues and 54 local sites across four administrative zones.
