Delhi Traffic Police have put comprehensive traffic diversions and evening restrictions in place across key south Delhi cultural hubs, including Chittaranjan Park and Greater Kailash-II, to manage the heavy rush during Durga Puja celebrations. The curbs took effect on Friday, 16 October, and will operate daily from 4 pm to midnight until Tuesday, 20 October.

Traffic authorities said the proactive measures are designed to ensure seamless movement for commuters while accommodating thousands of devotees visiting pandals. Because many prominent pandals sit inside residential colonies with tight road layouts and restricted parking, traffic police are regulating private vehicle entry into internal sectors to keep residential lanes clear and prevent bottlenecking.

| Location or Corridor | Affected Section | Traffic Arrangement || Outer Ring Road | Vasant Vihar to Modi Mill Flyover | Diverted and regulated traffic || Major Arterials | Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, LBS Marg, MB Road | Heavy evening traffic managed || Residential Hubs | CR Park and Greater Kailash-II | Private vehicle entry restricted || Transit Drop-offs | Greater Kailash and Nehru Enclave Metros | Designated auto and taxi zones |

Several arterial routes across south Delhi will experience regulated flow during peak evening hours. Affected roads include the Outer Ring Road between Vasant Vihar and Modi Mill Flyover, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, August Kranti Marg, M.B. Road, Guru Ravidas Marg, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, and Josip Broz Tito Marg. Traffic between Khanpur and DDA Flats-Kalkaji heading toward Jamia Hamdard, as well as stretches connecting Khanpur to Chirag Delhi Flyover and Moolchand Flyover, are also under active traffic management.

To ensure smooth travel for visitors and minimise congestion, police have advised commuters to use the Delhi Metro network. Official drop-off points for auto-rickshaws and taxis have been designated at Greater Kailash and Nehru Enclave metro stations, allowing visitors to reach the pandals conveniently on foot from those hubs.

Authorities have asked motorists to plan trips early, avoid roadside parking near pandals, and strictly utilise designated parking sites. Police personnel deployed across key intersections are directing drivers and ensuring order throughout the festive period.
