Bengaluru furniture startup Furnishka raises Rs 26.8 crore
The extended pre-Series A round brings in prominent tech founders and takes the company's total funding to around Rs 70 crore.

Bengaluru-based furniture retailer Furnishka has secured Rs 26.8 crore in an extended pre-Series A funding round, drawing backing from a mix of venture firms, prominent tech founders, and angel investors.
The startup structured the transaction by allotting 3,183 preference shares at an issue price of Rs 84,157 apiece, according to its regulatory filings. A substantial portion of the committed capital has already been credited to the company's accounts, with the remaining funds expected to clear shortly.
Bhaarath Sang emerged as the largest contributor to the round, putting in Rs 10.3 crore. Beenext Asia invested Rs 3.35 crore, while Onyx InVen and angel investor Amit Jain each committed Rs 2.37 crore. Mohit Gupta and Jnabiz Consulting both contributed nearly Rs 2 crore.
The round also drew notable personal investments from some of India’s most prominent startup operators. PhysicsWallah co-founders Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari each committed Rs 1.14 crore, while Udaan co-founder Sujeet Kumar put in roughly Rs 1 crore. Shantanu Jain and Manish Dugar joined the round with investments of about Rs 94.3 lakh and Rs 15.1 lakh, respectively.
Kumar is a returning backer, having previously participated in Furnishka’s initial Rs 27 crore pre-Series A round in October 2024. That earlier exercise was led by IndiaQuotient and included Sparrow Capital alongside Livspace co-founder Ramakant Sharma.
With this latest extension, the company's cumulative funding since its launch has reached approximately Rs 70 crore.
Testing the hybrid retail model
Founded in 2023 by Ganesh Pawar, Furnishka operates an omnichannel model that blends online commerce with large-format physical stores. The company sells furniture across living room, dining room, and bedroom categories, placing its strategic focus on product customisation, operational efficiency, and a streamlined supply chain.
This approach targets a persistent reality in the Indian furniture market: while consumers like to browse online, many still prefer to touch, feel, and inspect high-ticket items in person before buying. By combining digital discovery with physical showrooms, Furnishka hopes to capture both types of shopping behaviour. The startup's strategy reflects a wider shift among home decor and furniture brands, where pure-play e-commerce models are increasingly being supplemented by offline experience centres to build trust and drive conversions.
The company has not yet said how it intends to deploy the fresh capital, though the funds will likely support the expansion of its physical footprint and refinement of its logistics network.
