NSE Q2 profit rises 23 per cent to Rs 2,578 crore as trading volumes surge
India's primary stock exchange records robust profit growth and strong market participation, alongside a major contribution to the national exchequer.
Surging market participation drives strong earnings
The National Stock Exchange of India has posted a 23 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the second quarter ended September 2026, reaching Rs 2,578 crore. The earnings mark the exchange's maiden quarterly performance report following its successful debut on the stock market.
Driven by sustained domestic economic growth and strong capital market participation, NSE's consolidated total income rose 9 per cent year-on-year to Rs 4,554 crore. Consolidated revenue from transaction charges grew to Rs 3,035 crore, supported by robust growth across trading segments. Average daily traded volume in the cash market expanded 24 per cent to Rs 1,18,377 crore.
