Passengers at Manchester Airport are facing severe flight delays and cancellations, with some travellers left waiting for nearly nine hours to reach their destinations.

The disruption has hit several major airlines, forcing last-minute schedule changes and leaving passenger plans in limbo.

Which Manchester Airport flights are affected?

Among the worst affected is an easyJet flight from Antalya in Turkey. Originally scheduled to land at Manchester at 6:15pm, its arrival was pushed back by nearly nine hours, with tracking data estimating it would not land until 3:05am the following morning.

Departures have also been heavily impacted. A Saudia flight to Jeddah was delayed by an hour and a half, while Ryanair services to Dublin and Limoges, a Jet2 flight to Nice, and a Vueling flight to Barcelona all suffered delays of up to two hours.

It is not just delays causing headaches. Several flights have been called off completely. Flight-tracking website Avionio listed two early-morning Ryanair departures—flight FR4927 to Paphos in Cyprus and flight FR6983 to Genoa in Italy—as cancelled. Brussels Airlines also cancelled its 11:10am departure to Brussels and the corresponding 10:25am return arrival.

This latest round of disruption follows similar issues earlier in the week. On Monday, passengers heading to Gibraltar on an early-morning easyJet flight faced an hour-long delay, while TUI services to Menorca and Naples were held up by around 45 minutes.

While some of these individual delays were minor, they are part of a broader pattern of disruption. One live cancellation tracker recorded 58 cancelled flights at Manchester Airport over a single seven-day period.

Why are the flights delayed?

Neither the airport nor the airlines have confirmed what is causing the current wave of delays and cancellations.

Different flight-tracking services have reported varying cancellation figures throughout the day, indicating that schedules remain highly fluid.

What should passengers do next?

With schedules changing quickly, travellers are advised to check the status of their flight directly with their airline before setting off.

Manchester Airport recommends checking its official website for the latest terminal information, but notes that airlines hold the most up-to-date schedule details.
