Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha opened the Rangalal Das Memorial Indoor Sports Hall and unveiled a marble statue of Swami Vivekananda at the District Sports Complex in Kailashahar on Saturday.

Speaking near the Unakoti District Youth Affairs and Sports Office on Saptami during Durga Puja, Dr Saha highlighted the state government's ongoing effort to expand modern athletic facilities across Tripura. He urged young people to embrace sports as a means to build discipline, self-confidence, and teamwork, while actively avoiding drug abuse.

Honouring Tripura's sports legacy

The Chief Minister explained that naming the Kailashahar indoor complex after noted local footballer Rangalal Das is part of a broader policy to recognize figures who shaped the state's sporting landscape. By naming venues after prominent athletes and coaches, the state aims to preserve Tripura's sporting history and inspire upcoming generations.
