Cent raises $15 million in Series A funding to expand preventive health platform
The Indian health-tech startup has also acquired AI radiology platform Medsee as it builds early disease detection infrastructure.
Preventive healthcare startup Cent has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round to advance early disease detection and health monitoring across India. The round, which comprises a mix of equity and debt, was co-led by Blume Ventures and South Park Commons.
Individual investors participating in the round include former Vodafone chief executive officer Arun Sarin, former OpenAI B2B chief technology officer Srinivas Narayanan, as well as Sharath Narayana, Krishan Sridhar, and Aprameya Radhakrishna.
Alongside the funding, Cent announced the acquisition of Medsee, an artificial intelligence radiology reporting platform founded by Chitra Singh. Medsee generates structured radiology reports and highlights diagnostic findings for radiologist review, allowing Cent to streamline its workflow and maintain fast, consistent reporting as its patient intake expands.
What Cent does and who is behind it
Founded in 2025, Cent was established by Practo founder and OneFlow Holdings head Shashank ND, former Ola Electric chief marketing officer Anshul Khandelwal, and former Lenskart product head Arpit Garg. The startup focuses on detecting noncommunicable conditions—including cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and metabolic disorders—before clinical symptoms manifest.
Cent operates its own specialized screening centres in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR, while partnering with diagnostic laboratory networks across the country. Its proprietary preventive screening protocol compiles several diagnostic tests into a single two-hour session.
| Screening Component | Diagnostic Scope |
|---|---|
| Full-body imaging | MRI and low-dose CT scans |
| Cardiovascular evaluation | ECG and echocardiogram (ECHO) |
| Bone density and composition | DEXA scans |
| Laboratory biomarkers | Over 100 comprehensive blood biomarkers |
Screening stats and future targets
Over the past year, Cent has completed approximately 10,000 patient screenings. According to company data, one in four screened individuals presented findings requiring medical attention, while one in 40 required an immediate doctor consultation.
| Metric | Figure |
|---|---|
| Completed patient scans | 10,000 |
| Patients requiring medical attention | 25 per cent |
| Patients requiring immediate consultation | 2.5 per cent |
| Target scans by 2035 | 10 million |
| Lives targeted to save | 1 million |
The capital raised will be deployed towards medical hardware, clinical research, and expanding Cent's artificial intelligence, engineering, and clinical teams as it scales up its preventive health infrastructure.
