What happened

Bengaluru-based childcare platform Maasi has raised Rs 6 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Better Capital, with participation from Antler India.

The investment highlights strong investor appetite for tech-enabled services addressing urban family needs within India's expanding startup ecosystem. Key angel investors in the round include Rapido founder Rishikesh SR, Shadowfax founder Vaibhav Khandelwal, Xoxoday founder Sumit Khandelwal, Crane VC's Siddhant Goyal, and Multiply Ventures' Sanjay Ramakrishnan.

Maasi said it will use the capital to expand caregiver recruitment and training, build its technology platform, and grow its team in Bengaluru.

Service offerings and pricing

Founded by Aashu Manchali, Gargi Pandey, and Reshov Roy, Maasi provides structured home-based childcare services. The company grew out of the Urban Parents Club, a community of over 8,000 parents in Bengaluru.

The startup verifies and trains all caregivers through a free programme led by preschool directors, nurses, and former cabin crew trainers before assigning them to households.

Operational growth and market footprint

Since its public launch on 20 October, Maasi generated a waitlist of over 4,000 parents within five days. The startup has served more than 1,200 parents using a network of over 500 caregivers, and reports a weekly growth rate of 20 per cent.

Better Capital founder Vaibhav Domkundwar noted that finding dependable childcare remains a challenge for urban parents, adding that the startup brings structure and accountability to the sector. Antler India partner Rajiv Srivatsa said the firm backed Maasi due to its focus on high caregiver selection standards.

The company is operated by Elephant in the Room Infotech Private Limited.
